Wilhelm Spohr’s book ‘German Work in the United States’ (‘Deutsche Arbeit in den Vereinigten Staaten’) is a continuation of earlier works and informs the readers (probably mostly Germans in Germany) about Germanism in the United States, German heritage in the US and explores the contributions of German immigrants to the American culture, such as claiming that is was a German teacher who had the idea of the naming of ‘Amerika’, the book mentions General von Steuben, German emigration to America, the American Dream, etc. Verlagsanstalt H.A.
