(1889-1962) General der Panzertruppe during WWII and son of Walther von Luettwitz, served on the Eastern Front, was awarded the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords. War-date Feldpost letter, handwritten in pencil to his wife Maria Freifrau von Luettwitz (Freiin von Thielmann) in Jena, dated 5.5.41, 2 pages, sent from Feldpost number 39212, Meiningen, while Smilo was regiment commander of the Schutzen-Regiment 12. Untranslated, with envelope, stamped ‘Dienststelle Feldpost Nr. 39212’. Mailing folds.
