(1928- ), a retired officer in the United States Air Force (USAF) and he participated in the Project Manhigh and Project Excelsior high-altitude balloon flight projects from 1956 to 1960 and was the first man to fully witness the curvature of the Earth. Black and white photograph, signed in black ink. 4 x 6 inches. Included are two certificates for Joe Kittingers for a Silver Star and a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster. 11 x 8.5 inches.
