‘Arztschreiber in Buchenwald’ (‘Doctor’s secretary in Buchenwald’), by Walter Poller, Phoenix-Verlag Christen & Co., Germany, 1946, 230 pages, hardcover, 8.25 x 5.75 inches. Journalist Walter Poller was arrested for treason against Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich, for organizing resistance groups. He and 51 other defendants were sentenced to four years hard labor. In 1938, he was sent as a political prisoner to the concentration camp Buchenwald where he worked as secretary to the camp doctor. He was released in 1940 and after the war ended, published this book on his experiences in Buchenwald.
