WWII NAVAL RADIO STATION PHOTOGRAPHS Photographic documentation of the construction of the German WWII Marine-Funkstelle (Naval Radio Station) Mitte in Soest, Germany. The original binder contains a collection of 57 black-and-white photographs, ranging from 2.5 x 3.5 to 6.75 x 8.5 inches, no text. The new construction took place in 1938. It was used to record radio traffic of the French Navy and relay it to Berlin. After the armistice with France, it monitored the radio traffic of the remaining fleet under the Vichy government.
