Two Heinrich Hoffmann photographs, 5 x 7 in., picturing Hitler during a reception with the alpinists Andreas ‘Anderl’ Heckmair, Heinrich Harrer, Ludwig Voerg and Fritz Kasparek after their ascent of the Eiger North Face – on the right: Hans von Tschammer und Osten and Wilhelm Frick. Hitler is shown presenting an award to the men. The second photo pictures the four Alpinists with Reich Sports Leader Hans von Tschammer und Osten. In July 1938, Anderl Heckmair (1906-2005) led the first successful ascent of the north face of the Eiger mountain. He later served on the Eastern Front. Hoffmann stamps on verso with captions added.
