The Strife is O’er – The Battle Done’ by Charles Waterhouse, not dated, signed by the artist on the bottom margin: ‘To Michael R Jordan, from the artist in residence USMC, Colonel Charles Waterhouse’. 24.5 x 18 inches. Waterhouse (1924-2013) was in the Marine Corps and participated in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He was awarded the ‘USMC Artist in Residence’, the Legion of Merit, and a Purple Heart.
