6th Iowa Volunteer Cavalry, Company L, ladder badge named to H.P. Wiltse. Engraved on badge, ‘Vol. Cav. War 1861-5’ with two Cavalry crossed swords and an American flag. The 6th Iowa Cavalry Regiment served in the Union Army during the Indian Wars. The company served at the Battle of Killdeer Mountain and the Battle of the Badlands. 2.5 x 1.75 inches.
