German table commemorating the Battle of Kiev in 1941 and celebrating the German victory, as reflected in the inscription on the reverse: ‘Five Soviet Armies – 3718 guns – 665,000 prisoners – 885 armored vehicles.’ The front shows an iron cross with a swastika in the center, dated ‘1939’. The edge reads ‘Das Deutsche Volk Dankt Seinen Tapferen Soldaten’. The reverse side shows a partial map of Russia, the edge reads ‘Encirclement battle of Kyiv In September 1941’. Approx. 2.75 inches diameter, non-magnetic. Very good.
