A wood sculpture by Professor Wilhelm Krieger of a majestic eagle perched on a pedestal. It is assumed that Professor Krieger created one eagle sculpture for Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler. Himmler loved his artwork so much that Krieger was asked to create a design for the Porzellan Manufaktur Allach. A few more wooden sculptures were created by Krieger, and this sculpture is assumed to be the last remaining example in glazed wood for the final Allach designs. The designs of the Allach come in brown-glazed and gray-glazed. The eagle sits firmly on the cuboid pedestal with its head turned slightly to the right. Krieger’s name is carved into the side of the base. Carved into the back of the base is a numeral ‘3.’ 24.5 inches tall. Approx. 17lbs. Very small chip to the rear corner. A very impressive sculpture.
