French plate with a scenic painting of Greater Glogow. The french text on the plate reads, ‘Greater Glogow Camps, Upper Silesia, Prussia – From a sketch by Gobert, 14th Light Infantry – 1870 – 1871’. Sketch was probably originally done by a soldier during the Franco-Prussian War from July 1870 to January 1871. Plate is 9 inches in diameter. Plate has minor chip on the base.
