Unusual relic, a rubber gas protection glove recovered in 1989 from the SS Command Tunnel at Obersalzberg, part of Adolf Hitler’s bunker system of the Berghof near Berchtesgaden, Bavaria. The included letter of provenance reads in part: ‘The glove was found in the Obersalzberg command tunnel during the filming of a documentary film about the bunker facilities in 1989. The SS Command tunnel…are on the same level as the private bunker of Martin Bormann…’ The glove is marked with a number ‘2’ and is about 12 inches long. The rubber shows a few tears from age. Sold in original, uncleaned condition. With a Certificate of Authenticity and a photograph from the bunker where it was found.
