(1908-1975) Austrian-born SS-Sturmbannfuhrer, he became famous during ‘Operation Oak’ which rescued Benito Mussolini from captivity from the mountain top. After the war Skorzeny lived in exile in Spain, tried to establish a new army in Germany, and was heavily involved with former Nazis while flourishing as a business man. Very bold signature on his personal letterhead, 1 page, Madrid, 21. September 1970, a typed letter to an admirer asking for a signed photograph: ‘Dear Herr Kiesele, with our newsletter from the Association of Knight’s Cross Recipients (Ordensgemeinschaft der Ritterkreuztrager) I received your request for a signed photograph and I’m happy to comply with your request. Firstly I had to acquire a decent photo, please excuse the delay.’ File holes at left and mailing folds. 8.25 x 11.5 inches. some loss at edges, Very good.
