German WWII bronze fob, reading ‘German Day New York 1935 VDG’ (DEUTSCHER TAG NEW YORK 1935 VDG), sold by the pro-Nazi German-American Bund, a heptagon one-sided fob or medal 1.25 in. (34 mm) wide, showing a German eagle with a small swastika and the American flag on its chest. The fob commemorates the ‘German Day’ (Deutscher Tag) on 6.10.1935 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Hosted by the ‘Vereinigten Deutschen Gesellschaften von Gross New York’ (VDG). The ‘German Day’ celebrations commemorated the arrival of the first German settlers on U.S. territory.
