Historical Militaria & Autographs
Pair of medals awarded to Private CHARLES ERNEST BLEWETT, an American born in Michigan, who served in the South African Moto Cycle Corps, a British War Medal 1914-1918 and a Victory Medal (South Africa) also known as the Inter-Allied Victory Medal, with the inscription on the reverse in English and Dutch, with the pin back ribbon bar. Blewett served from 5/6/1917 to 17/3/1918. He was declared permanently unfit for tropical service because of severe malaria attacks. The Motor Cyclist Corps was formed in South Africa for service in the German East Africa Campaign, serving from 1916-18. Both medals are engraved with his rank, name and unit.
