WWII GOBLET FROM THE OBERSALZBERG

Third Reich German silver goblet recovered from Obersalzberg near Adolf Hitler’s Berghof above Berchtesgaden in Germany. The goblet has a small dent at the lip and a slight bent. The cup is 6.75 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide at the mouth, with a 2.5 inch wide foot. The bottom of the foot is stamped with a swastika inside an oakleaf wreath. The goblet has a warm patina. German silver also known as hotel silver were produced by the German brothers Hepp and are known for their use at the hotel ‘Deutscher Hof’, Adolf Hitler’s favorite quarters when in Nuremberg, the Platterhof Hotel, and similar establishments favored by the elite.
