(1874-1965) Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945, during the Second World War, and again from 1951 to 1955. Best known for his wartime leadership as Prime Minister. Typed letter signed while Churchill was Chancellor of the Exchequer in Stanley Baldwin’s government. Embossed official letterhead, 11, Downing Street, Whitehall, London, 7th July 1926, 1 page, 7.5 x 9.35 inches. Addressed to Michael Joseph, General Manager of his literary agent Curtis Brown, reading: ‘Dear Sir, This is the only copy I have of the new contract, and it is not amended as was the other. Will you please let me have it in the amended form, when I will initial and return it accordingly. Your faithfully’. Mailing folds, fine.
