Richard D. Wentworth (1904 – 1977) graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1929. After serving in the Army Air Forces in World War II, he transferred to the U.S. Air Force when it became a separate branch of service in 1947. On July 17, 1956 Wentworth was named secretary of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Washington, D.C. He retired in 1958 as a U.S. Air Force Brigadier General. Included here are his silver General star, marked ‘G-23 silver filled’, Headquarters Allied Air Forces Central Europe (AAFCE) enameled badge, marked ’05 Arthus Bertrand Paris’, and his SHAPE-NATO badge (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe), marked ‘ Dargo Paris.’ Very good.
