(1900 – 1991) German sculptor, Reich Culture Senator during WWII, and Nazi-supported artist whose Neoclassical works emblemized Hitler’s regimeâs militaristic aesthetic. Breker was added in 1944 by Joseph Goebbels to the ‘God-gifted’ list of crucial German artists. Large oversized black-and-white photograph, a detail of his sculpture ‘Schreitende’ (1940), 11.75 x 15.5 inches, signed in black ink at the lower right corner ‘With Best Wishes Arno Breker’.
