HITLER YOUTH FLAK HELPER’S HELMET

Hitler Youth Flak Helper’s helmet. Dark green smooth finish, the helmet has the details of an M42, the raw edge, and embossed air vents, with the addition of a raised ring around the base. The shell shows a repair line on the right side. On the left side is a Luftwaffe eagle decal over the Hitler Youth diamond. The leather chinstrap is connected directly to the aluminium band of the leather liner. The shell is stamped on the skirt ‘hkp62 40’.

The Flak Helpers were German school-aged boys of the 1926 – 1928 birth years who were drafted during the last years of WWII to man anti-aircraft positions.
