Very rare early WWI French Citron Foug hand grenade model 1916 with the wooden percussion plug igniter. A defensive grenade, cast iron, shaped like a lemon, hence its nickname, with an outer grid pattern. As early as April 1915, a factory in Foug, France, began to produce these simple grenades. The example offered here has been painted olive green and includes the wooden fuze. Very good. Inert.
