WWI U.S. Army dog tag named to Corporal Oswald Wiedwald, born Nov. 26, 1893, serial number 1901186, with Company ‘D’ 326th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Division. Wiedwald departed for France aboard the RMS Mauretania on April 29, 1918, from Hoboken, NJ. He returned to the U.S. aboard the U.S.S. Eurana in May 1919 to Camp Merritt, N.J. The 326th Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment of the United States Army that saw active service during World War I, as part of the 82nd Division and fought in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive and was inactivated in 1919. Some details on the front of the tag have been erased.
